Angamali mango curry


This is a special and yummy dish in Angamali.


Green mango – half kg
Onion-2 big, chopped
Ginger-one big, chopped
Green chilly-10
Shallot-half cup
Curry leaves-3 sprig
Chilly powder-one and half spoon
Coriander powder-2 tablespoon
Turmeric powder-half tablespoon
Coconut milk thin – 2cup
Thick coconut milk-one or a half cup
Salt-to taste
Dried chilly-3
Coconut oil as needed
Mustard seeds-one spoon


In a chatty pot add onion, ginger, chilly, curry leaves, chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, 2 spoon coconut oil, and salt. Squeeze all together with hands for five minutes. Add 2 cup of thin coconut milk into this and mix well. Switch on the flame and cook well.

After mango and onion cooked well pour thick coconut milk into the curry and mix again. Then switch off. Another pan heat oil. Add 4 spoon chopped shallot. Saute well and shallot becomes brown add mustard seeds, dried chilly and curry leaves. Saute well and add it into the mango curry. Serve hot with rice.
