Beef Pollichathu


This is my another experiment with Beef.  Its very spicy and yummy. Hope you enjoy..


Beef Fillet :4 piece
Onion (finely chopped ) : 1 cup
Ginger (finely chopped) :2 Spoon
Garlic (chopped) : 2 Spoon

Tomato (Finely chopped) : 1

Chilly Powder : 1 Spoon
Pepper Powder : 4 Spoon

Pepper (grinded ) : 2 Spoon
Garam Masala : 2 Spoon

Curry Leaves : 1 Sprig

Banana Leaves: 4
Coconut Oil : As needed

Salt : as required


Clean the Beef, either with vinegar or lemon juice. Marinate the pieces with turmeric, pepper, salt and cook well. After that shallow fry it. Heat oil in a Pan.  Add onion , ginger and garlic and sauté. Add tomato and curry leaves. Sauté it well. Then add turmeric powder, chilli  powder, pepper (grinded), pepper powder and sauté again. Add enough salt and garam masala and sauté . Add little water or coconut milk and make very thick gravy. ( I used little water).

Marinate the fried beef  pieces with masala and wrap it in plantain leaves (pliable). Tie it properly Heat some oil in a pan and keep the beef (packed) one by one into it, Turn the side after some time. After 5  minutes, beef pollichathu is ready to serve. Serve hot with Salad.
