Clam Meat Thoran (Kakkayirachi Thoran)

Ingredients

Clam Meat – Half kg

Grated coconut – one and half cup

shallot -10 ns

Green chillies -3  ns (Crushed)

Garlic – Two ns (Crushed)

Ginger – One piece(Crushed)

Turmeric powder – 3/4 tbsp

Chilly powder – one tbsp

Garam masala powder – one spn

Pepper powder- half tbsp

Mustard – 3/4 tbsp

Dry chilly – two

Curry leaves – two sprig

Salt- to taste

Coconut Oil – as required

 

Method

 

Clean and wash the clam meat. Cook with turmeric powder, salt and little water. Mix  grated coconut with garlic, ginger, chopped green chillies, turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala, pepper powder, chopped shallot, and salt . (Not using mixi. Just mix by hand.) Set aside for five minutes.

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and fry dry chilly and curry leaves. Add coconut mix . Mix well for one minute. Then add cooked clam meat without water. Mix well. Stir fry until they turn crispy.  Check for salt. Serve with rice.
