Mathanga parippu curry(Pumpkin Curry)

Ingredients

Pumpkin – ½ kg
Dal – ¼ cup
Coconut – 1 piece
Tamarind – 1 piece
Chilli powder -2 spoon
Green chilies – 2 nos
Turmeric Powder – ¼ spoon
Mustard – 1 spoon
Dried Red chilies – 2 Nos
Curry Leaves – 2 springs
Salt – for taste
Method
Cook dal with green chilies, turmeric powder and chili powder. Add pumpkin pieces to it and cook. Add water to the tamarind and squeeze out the extracts and add to the mixture when the pumpkin pieces get cooked. Grind the coconut with cumin seeds and add to this, once it boiled. Add necessary salt also. Wait until it gets boiled and after that switch off the flame. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustards. Add dried red chilies and curry leaves and sauté. Add this seasoned mixture into the pumpkin curry.
